Claudio Spieler

Claudio Spieler is a versatile and dedicated Austrian percussionist especially skilled at the South Indian kanjira and konnakol. He performs at festivals and venues from Havanna to Reykjavik and teaches at drum camps and universities all over Europe. After graduating cum laude in classical percussion and eight years of intensive studying with renowned percussionist Hakim Ludin, he is now a student of Indian kanjira master Selvaganesh Vinayakram. As a solo artist and as part of several international projects his specialisations include South Indian and Latin music, flamenco and interactive concerts for kids. Claudio s style of playing is subtle, imaginative, humorous and above all virtuoso, radiating the pure pleasure of making music.
