Buurten over Grenzen: Hakoura – Echoes from Home

Met het ingaan van het nieuwe jaar biedt deze bijeenkomst een moment om stil te staan, samen te komen en na te denken over hoe verbondenheid en collectieve zorg ons vooruit kunnen helpen.

Het programma van deze avond bestaat uit livemuziek, verhalen, een gezamenlijke maaltijd en een vertoning van korte kunstvideo’s uit Sweida in Zuid-Syrië. 

Echoes from Home maakt gebruik van geluid, beeld en samenzijn om een omgeving te creëren die stemmen, herinneringen en creatieve uitdrukking over afstand heen verbindt. Een plek waarin mensen samen tijd doorbrengen, genieten van kunst en muziek, met de bedoeling het jaar te starten met zorg en ondersteuning.

Donaties zijn welkom en gaan rechtstreeks naar vertrouwde lokale gemeenschappen die ter plaatse in Sweida werken om ontheemde gezinnen te ondersteunen. Elke bijdrage, hoe klein ook, helpt deze door de gemeenschap geleide initiatieven in stand te houden.

Hakoura Collective invites you to Echoes from Home, an evening of art and solidarity shaped by care, community, and the spirit of new beginnings. As we step into a new year, the gathering offers a moment to pause, come together, and reflect on how connection and collective care can carry us forward.

The program features live music, storytelling, a shared homemade meal, and the screening of short art videos from Sweida in southern Syria. Through sound, image, and shared presence, Echoes from Home creates a space that channels voices, memories, and creative expression across distance, a space to spend time together, enjoy art and music, with the intention of beginning the year with acts of care and support.

Donations are welcome throughout the event and will go directly to trusted local community networks working on the ground in Sweida to support displaced families with essential supplies and daily needs. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps sustain ongoing, community-led efforts.
