English
In Brazil they say: “Tamo Junto e Misturado”, which means “everyone together, everyone mixed” and that’s exactly what this jam session should convey. A sense of community where history doesn’t matter, a place where you can enjoy any type of music (play and listen), laugh with the strangers around you, dance any dance, eat from all cultures and save the here and now. The stage is open to anyone who wants to participate in the music.
Romi Brasil group opens the night with Carnival Marchinhas, typical of the Carnival Blocks in the city of Rio de Janeiro, and Sambas for dancing/enjoying. Afterwards there will be a mini workshop so that everyone can experience firsthand what a real batucada is like. The workshop is hosted by Unidos de Amsterdam, a percussion group led, directed and founded in 1995 by maestro Alberto, with members with more than 40 nationalities.
During breaks, the dance floor is free to dance to the sound of DJ Gatinha.
Join us is this unique celebration of the vibrant and contagious rhythms of Rio Carnival!
